Divide and conquer: Clinton machine paid the young turks nertwork $20 million

It was recently announced that The Young Turks Network, led by Cenk Uygur, had secured $20 million dollars in funding to bolster their business/media presence. But while Cenk Uygur attempts to sell his brand to the public as a progressive alternative media outlet, facts reveal that this is nothing more than a façade meant to lure young liberal pragmatists into buying into a hidden corporatist agenda.

The $20 million in funding is slated to be used to increase the size of the TYT newsroom and for business operations – but where did the money actually come from?

It is important to note that TYT has reported on some hard-hitting stories and exposed serious problems within the state, and Uygur was unafraid of calling out corruption—so much so that he quit his job at MSNBC to work on the media project. However, once we start following the recent money, we can see a telling revelation begin to unfold.

The funding comes from a number of sources, so let’s take a look at these entities and the people behind them to better understand the agenda at play.

The main conduit for the funding is a newly created growth equity fund called 3L Capital, with additional financial backing from venture capital groups Greycroft Partners, E.ventures, and WndrCo. — which was recently launched by Hollywood mogul Jefferey Katzenberg.

“News is red hot right now and being positioned on the progressive side of the coin has put us in a very good place,” Uygur said, according to Bloomberg.

Far from being an independent progressive news source, as they proclaim to be, the TYT network is now being supported by your run of the mill corporatist Clinton money machine. Although attempting to publicly operate as an insurgent progressive activist outlet – think Bernie Sanders – the financial backing by the aforementioned entities reveals something vastly different.       More

The World Of Dialectics In The 2016 US Presidential Elections

ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016 Oct 26, 2016 - 03:14 PM GMT By: Jeff_Berwick

We have been very, very suspicious of Donald Trump since he began his political run.
Many believed he was an outsider who was our “only hope” to tame the US federal government beast.  But it has become very clear he is not.
First, Wikileaks showed that Killary herself actually approved Trump to be her competitor. According to an email sent from an assistant at the Clinton campaign, Hillary was aware that Trump was going to run before the political process was fully underway.

Clinton advised the mainstream media to push his legitimacy as a “pied piper” candidate because she realized, after looking at the poll numbers, that she wouldn’t stand a chance at winning the presidency against any of the establishment republicans without making them “pied pipers” –  it just so happened that Donald was the easiest to play the role considering his long history of friendship with the Clintons.
In addition, the mainstream media was more than complicit in creating a narrative that the 2016 presidential elections were about Hillary Clinton vs Donald Trump from the get go.
But, barely reported in the media, was that after the 3rd presidential debate, Clinton and Trump went out for a night on the town together… and where they went is of great interest.

They went to an annual Jesuit function which is usually full of New World Order types.
THE JESUITS
One of the more interesting things that occurred right at the end of the Jubilee year in early October, was that the Jesuits installed a new Superior General, with the date to commence being actually at midnight on the end of Jubilee.
We found this interesting because there is plenty of evidence that the Jesuits are at least one major arm of what you can call the illuminati.
In fact, the Jesuits were founded in Spain by what various reports call  “crypto Jews” – those who are Jewish but pretending  to be Catholic. Certainly at that time in Spain it was safer not to be a Jew.
Even Wikipedia, which wouldn’t recognize a conspiracy if it were directly presented by its participants has this to say about the Jesuits:
… In the first 30 years of the existence of the Society of Jesus there were many Jesuit conversos (Catholic-convert Jews) including the second Father General Diego Lainez … The original founder Ignatius …  said that he,  “would take it as a special grace from our Lord to come from Jewish lineage.”
At the beginning of the Al Smith dinner party after Cardinal Dolan was introduced, a joke was even made by a speaker that “everyone in attendance is doing their part in supporting their charitable efforts and that it couldn’t be done without the support of many of the other devoted “Catholics” on stage like Henry Kissinger, Howard Rubenstein, and Mort Zuckerman” – all of whom are obviously Jewish so this remark was naturally met with a lot of laughter…
In fact, an extraordinary amount of controversy swirls around Jesuits. They are said to constitute the “Black Church” and thus adhere to the same Satanic religion as the world’s elite bankers supposedly hold.
The leader of the Jesuit order is commonly recognized in conspiratorial circles as the “Black Pope” whose signature staff is a crooked cross. Historically, the Jesuit Order has been seen as one that shirks no crime in expanding the power of the Church.
Lest this sound entirely outrageous, one must note that the Jesuits are, for instance, the inventors of concentration camps, which they established in Paraguay  in order to incarcerate and then torture the native indians of the area.
But the litany of attributed Jesuit evil is even darker than that according to those who believe in the order’s continued malicious pursuit. The supposed founder of the Bavarian-based Illuminati,  Adam Weishaupt, was a Jesuit.
In fact, the order is reputed to have been deeply involved in the Illuminati’s initial expansion, and chances are it is still deeply involved.
One more thing that highlights the evil of the Jesuits is their extreme oath of induction which all superiors must take in order to be elevated to the higher rungs of the organization. This is taken from the book Subterranean Rome by Carlos Didier, translated from the French, and published in New York in 1843 and reads in part,
“…promise and declare that I will, when opportunity present, make and wage relentless war, secretly or openly, against all heretics, Protestants and Liberals, as I am directed to do, to extirpate and exterminate them from the face of the whole earth; and that I will spare neither age, sex or condition; and that I will hang, waste, boil, flay, strangle and bury alive these infamous heretics, rip up the stomachs and wombs of their women and crush their infants’ heads against the walls, in order to annihilate forever their execrable race. That when the same cannot be done openly, I will secretly use the poisoned cup, the strangulating cord, the steel of the poniard or the leaden bullet, regardless of the honor, rank, dignity, or authority of the person or persons, whatever may be their condition in life, either public or private, as I at any time may be directed so to do by any agent of the Pope or Superior of the Brotherhood of the Holy Faith, of the Society of Jesus…”
One of the most poignant quotes regarding the malevolence of the Jesuits comes from Marquis de LaFayette 1757-1834; who was a French statesman and general who served in the American Continental Army under the command of General George Washington during the American Revolutionary War.
His quote is as follows:
“It is my opinion that if the liberties of this country – the United States of America – are destroyed, it will be by the subtlety of the Roman Catholic Jesuit priests, for they are the most crafty, dangerous enemies to civil and religious liberty. They have instigated MOST of the wars of Europe.”
THE BIG BASH
When evaluating Jesuit behavior and influence, please keep in mind that both Donald Trump and Hillary’s VP, Tim Kaine, are Jesuit educated. And it should be of GREAT interest, therefore, that practically on the eve of the US election, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton partied the night away at a Jesuit function that included such prominent Jesuit-trained attendees as Henry Kissinger.
Not only did the two not look like sworn enemies… they looked like two star crossed lovers going to their first prom.
We have long held to our stance that Killary will be the next President of the US.  The amount of vote rigging, murders and shenanigans to even get her to where she is so far has been tremendous… and it won’t stop.
That said, if by some fluke, and the Diebold machines malfunction or people in the US wake up slightly and Donald Trump gets elected… it is pretty clear they are on the same team and, as we’ve said previously, nothing major will change.
So, if you were hoping that this election could change things in the US… get over that hope right now.  It might change things, but only for the much, much worse.
This charade is being played right in front of everyone’s eyes and most do not understand what is happening or why jokes like the “Catholic” joke is actually funny to these elite people.
They are laughing at the peasants stupidity and lack of understanding, not because the men mentioned are Jews… anyone with half a brain knows that.
But while they laugh, we’ll be laughing all the way to the bank ourselves. Just because these sick people are formulating diabolical plans to enslave humanity doesn’t mean we can’t profit from their planned chaos. It’s better than sitting back in ignorance and making nothing.
Our analysis of these elite’s occult timelines which began with the Shemitah and culminated with the Jubilee, have helped us to accumulate around a 200% collective return on our portfolio in the last year.
The groundwork for global governance has been laid, don’t let them blindside you as they attempt to carry out their nefarious plot.  Donald Trump even stated at the dinner, “We’ve got to come together, not only as a nation, but as a world community.”
Promotion of the globalist new world order.
They want to keep you ignorant and powerless because after all, knowledge is power.                             Market Oracle

True And False Peace In A Troubled World

Image result for perilous times
“But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.”
I Thessalonians 5:1-6
“And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.”
Genesis 11:6
“Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the Lord.”
Obadiah 1:4
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
John 14:27

In this issue of the Last Trumpet Newsletter, we will conduct another sobering study on today’s current events. The world as we know it today is filled with great turbulence, disorder, and uproar. We see a world that despite its amazing advancements seems to be deteriorating at a rapid pace. This downward spiral continues even as institutions such as the United Nations promise the world peace and safety.
On September 21, 2016, the United Nations observed the 35th annual International Day of Peace. In the days leading up to this event, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-Moon, urged the world to adopt its 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development insisting that these ambitious goals, which essentially amount to the establishment of a one world government, are the “building blocks” for peace. (1) “Sustainable development is essential for lasting peace, and both depend on respect for human rights. All of us can be sustainable development advocates,” Mr. Ban declared. He further went on to say, “On this International Day of Peace, express your commitment to peace by becoming a champion for the SDGs. (Sustainable Development Goals.)” (2)
Meanwhile, soon to be outgoing, American President Barack Obama gave his final address before the United Nations on September 20, 2016. In this speech, Obama urged the world to embrace a globalist agenda. “And so I believe that at this moment we all face a choice. We can choose to press forward with a better model of cooperation and integration. Or we can retreat into a world sharply divided, and ultimately in conflict, along age-old lines of nation and tribe and race and religion,” Obama said. He later went on to say, “We can only eliminate extreme poverty if the sustainable development goals that we have set are more than words on paper. Human ingenuity now gives us the capacity to feed the hungry and give all of our children – including our girls – the education that is the foundation for opportunity in our world. But we have to put our money where our mouths are. And we can only realize the promise of this institution’s founding – to replace the ravages of war with cooperation – if powerful nations like my own accept constraints.” In another portion of the speech, Obama told his audience that “young people need a global education in order to thrive.” (3) It is interesting to note that rumors have circulated in recent months that claim Barack Obama would like to be the next Secretary-General of the United Nations. Perhaps this speech by Obama was an audition for the part. His goals certainly align with the United Nations, and we know that the UN is continually working to establish a global government.
As it turns out, Barack Obama was not the only notable figure who was busy on September 20, 2016. On this day, Pope Francis joined other religious leaders in the town of Assisi, Italy, to take part in an event called the World Day of Prayer for Peace. The event was also attended by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of the Eastern Orthodox religion, and Justin Welby, who is the Archbishop of Canterbury. (4) Also present at the assembly were leaders of Islam, Judaism, and Buddhism. (5) At this event, the pope declared that “the world thirsts for peace.” (6)
From what I have seen and heard of Pope Francis, I do believe that he is a man who is determined to unite the religions of the world. Yet, religious leaders have been gathering each year in Assisi for the last thirty years, and there is still a profound lack of peace in the world. The United Nations has been observing an International Day of Peace for thirty-five years and still has not wrought peace in the world. There is no peace in Syria, there is no peace in Iraq, there is no peace in Israel, there is no peace in Afghanistan, there is no peace in numerous regions of Africa, there is no peace in Venezuela, and there is not even peace in the United States right now. How can we have peace? Uniting the religions of the world is not the answer, nor is establishing a one world government. Yet, there is a genuine peace of God that is unlike the highly sought after peace of the world. In John 14:27, Jesus tells us, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” If you have not yet found this peace, I urge you to turn to God, repent of your sins, and dedicate your life to Him.

Perilous Times In America!
When we read or watch the news in the United States, the headlines we see are quite distressing. Indeed, the opening stories for local news broadcasts will often recount numerous murders and acts of violence. In many large cities in this country, violent crime has risen exponentially. This development prompted the New York Times to publish a story on September 9, 2016, which declares, “Murder Rates Rose in a Quarter of the Nation’s 100 Largest Cities.” According to the story, murder rates began trending upward in 2015, with the most drastic increases occurring in Baltimore, Maryland; Chicago, Illinois; Cleveland, Ohio; Houston, Texas; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Nashville, Tennessee; and Washington, D.C. (7)
The aforementioned report indicates that much of the increase in crime is drug related. During the month of April 2015, as the city of Baltimore, Maryland, was suffering from rioting, industrious thieves used the opportunity to steal 315,000 doses of drugs from pharmacies and medical clinics. This flooded the market with illegal drugs, which in turn led to violent crimes as competing factions jockeyed for territory in Baltimore. (8) However, drug use is not just a problem in large cities like Baltimore or Chicago. My hometown of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, which is located just ninety minutes away from Milwaukee, is now suffering the detrimental consequences of heroin abuse. Following the deaths of two people who overdosed on heroin in early 2016 in Beaver Dam, plus two more deaths within the county line, Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt was quoted as saying, “It’s everybody from teens to people in their 50s. We’ve definitely seen an increase. I’ve never seen it this bad.” This ordinarily quiet region of Wisconsin suffered twenty deaths from heroin overdoses in 2015. (9)
Meanwhile, the racial tension in the United States is palpable. This tension has grown worse in the month of September 2016 as two black men were shot and killed by police officers. The first incident occurred on September 16, 2016, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, when a white female police officer inexplicably shot and killed an unarmed 40 year-old black man by the name of Terence Crutcher as his car idled on the road. In the aftermath of this shooting, the police officer, Betty Shelby, has been charged with first degree manslaughter. (10)
The second shooting occurred on September 20, 2016, in Charlotte, North Carolina. According to reports, a 43 year-old black man by the name of Keith Lamont Scott was shot and killed by a black police officer after refusing repeated orders to drop a gun he was carrying. (11) The shooting led to violent rioting and protests in the city of Charlotte that lasted at least three nights. One protestor was reportedly shot by another protestor in Charlotte on September 21, 2016, and eventually died. (12) In response to the uproar, North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory activated the National Guard, and riot police were also on hand to stem the violence. (13) “We are going to be a lot more proactive. We made 44 arrests last night because we are not going to tolerate the behavior,” declared Charlotte Chief of Police Kerr Putney. (14)
Sadly, the prevalent racial tension in America is stoking the flames of hatred once again. For example, a man claiming to be the brother of the man who was shot in North Carolina is featured in a video that surfaced on the Internet. In this video, the man is heard to say, “Just know that all white people are (expletive) devils. All white cops are (expletive) devils and white people.” (15) This statement was made despite the fact that the police officer who was involved in the shooting, Brentley Vinson, is a black man. (16)
When Barack Obama became the first black president in the United States, there was an expectation from many people that he would be a leader who unites the country and alleviates racially motivated strife. Oddly enough, since Obama became president in 2009, there have been at least ten race riots in the United States, and it has been increasingly common to see National Guard soldiers patrolling the streets in America’s largest and most volatile cities. In 2016, riots erupted in Charlotte, North Carolina; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and St. Paul, Minnesota. In recent years, there were riots in such places as Baltimore, Maryland, and Ferguson, Missouri. (17) It seems that there are forces behind the scenes that are determined to fracture the United States and reshape the country to their liking. According to a report in the Washington Times, this includes the elitist billionaire George Soros who has been privily funding protests via backchannels dating back to the unrest of Ferguson in 2014. (18) Perhaps it is a scheme to establish order from chaos. In any case, we know that Satan loves to watch people destroy each other, and he is ultimately the driving force behind the hatred that is so common in our world today.

Is Hillary Clinton’s Health In Question?
For many months, there has been speculation that American presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is suffering from serious health conditions. People have wondered if this is the real reason she has avoided holding press conferences and is often reluctant to speak with reporters. For most of this time, mainstream news sources have not covered these rumors. In fact, one reporter, who formerly wrote for the liberal news outlet known as the Huffington Post, was terminated from his employment in late August 2016 after he wrote two articles which questioned the health of Clinton. “I’ve written hundreds of stories, filed hundreds of stories over my years as a journalist and pundit, and I’ve never had this happen,” said reporter David Seaman. He further went on to say, “A couple of times in the past, I’ve had legal concerns with something I’ve reported on so there was discussion with something I’d reported on… but they didn’t simply delete the articles, make them disappear from the Internet and revoke my access. I’ve honestly never seen anything like this, and this is happening in the United States in 2016. It’s frankly chilling. I’m a little scared.” (19) It certainly was stunning that these reports were squashed so quickly, but it is not surprising considering the penchant of Hillary Clinton to silence all opposing voices by any means necessary.
Events that transpired in September 2016, however, forced the media to report on Clinton’s condition. The first of these events occurred on September 5, 2016, when Hillary Clinton delivered a speech in Cleveland, Ohio. As she began her remarks, Clinton was pestered by a persistent cough that simply would not go away for a lengthy period of time. Clinton blamed her coughing fit on allergies and even told the audience, “Every time I think about (Donald) Trump I get allergic.” Her voice remained shaky and weak for the duration of her speech, and MSNBC news anchor Ari Melber was quoted as saying, “She had quite a coughing fit. That’s one of the worst coughing fits I have seen from her.” ((20) Of course, everyone has a coughing fit from time to time, so the fact that Clinton suffered from one does not necessarily mean she is in poor health. However, less than a week later, Clinton’s health was again called into question when she attended a memorial in New York City on September 11, 2016. According to reports, Clinton had to leave the event early because she was feeling overheated. As Secret Service agents attempted to escort her to a vehicle, she fainted. The agents were then forced to transport her to the vehicle while hoping to avoid unwanted attention, but this entire fiasco was captured on video and widely viewed by audiences all over the world. In the aftermath of Clinton’s fainting episode, her physician, Lisa R. Bardack, issued a statement saying, “Secretary Clinton has been experiencing a cough related to allergies. On Friday, during a follow up evaluation of her prolonged cough, she was diagnosed with pneumonia. She was put on antibiotics, and advised to rest and modify her schedule. While at this morning’s event, she became overheated and dehydrated. I have just examined her and she is now re-hydrated and recovering nicely.” (21) After Clinton’s mishap in New York, the mainstream media finally began to question her health. A headline from the Washington Post that was published on September 11, 2016, declares, “Hillary Clinton’s health just became a real issue in the presidential campaign.” (22) Of course, this was not the first time Clinton has fainted. In late 2012, Clinton fainted, suffered a concussion, and was eventually found to have a serious blood clot. (23) Perhaps the weight of Clinton’s sins and treachery are affecting her health. Without question, attempts have been made by Clinton and her campaign to hide the truth of her condition, but the truth always seems to come out eventually.
“Though Thou Set Thy Nest Among The Stars”
WWe live in a world today that is continually advancing by way of extraordinary technology and amazing capabilities. However, sometimes a society can advance too far. In the eleventh chapter of the book of Genesis, we learn that a one world government once existed. This was an advanced society where everyone spoke the same language, and the people assumed that there was nothing that could stop them. It was at this time that these people decided to build the Tower of Babel which they said would reach the heavens and thus prevent God from destroying them with another flood such as the one He had caused in Noah’s day. It was at this point that God looked down at the endeavors of man, and His reaction is found in Genesis 11:6 which tells us, “And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.” It was at this point that God made the decision to scatter the people by confounding their languages, and then He further emphasized this separation by dividing the land mass of the Earth. We live in a world today where technology is reuniting the world and removing language barriers.
Once again, man is reaching for the stars, so to speak, with the expectation that even the average man or woman will soon be able to visit outer space. In fact, Jeff Bezos, who is the well-known founder of the famous Internet retailer known as Amazon.com, has ambitions that go far beyond selling books, electronics, appliances, groceries, and household items. In addition to Amazon, Mr. Bezos also owns a space exploration company known as Blue Origin. This company has already been launching rockets into space, and plans are underway to develop special transport capsules suitable for space travel that will allow tourists to venture beyond our planet for the first time. Incredibly, it is expected that Blue Origin will have these space vehicles ready by the year 2018. It is the hope of Mr. Bezos that the human race will someday expand beyond the constraints of earth. “I wish there were a trillion humans in the solar system. Think how cool that would be. You’d have a thousand Einsteins at any given moment – and more. There would be so much dynamism with all of that human intelligence. But you can’t do that with the resources on Earth or the energy on Earth. So if you really want to see that kind of dynamic civilization as we expand through the solar system, you have to figure out how to safely move around and use resources that you get in space,” Bezos said. (24) This plan is obviously quite ambitious, and it sounds too fantastical to believe, yet men such as Jeff Bezos believe such plans will really be possible someday. Could this be another attempt by man to outsmart God? Perhaps they think that if the earth is destroyed, they can simply move into space. Considering the inability of the human race to live peacefully on earth, perhaps ambitions to expand into space are not such a good idea. When I ponder this thought, I cannot help but think of the words we find in Obadiah 1:4 which declares, “Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the Lord.”

Human Transportation May Soon Change Forever!
In last month’s issue of the Last Trumpet Newsletter, we covered some of the rapid development now occurring in the field of autonomous vehicles or driverless cars. If you read last month’s issue, you are well aware that an autonomous vehicle taxi service is now being tested in Singapore, and the ride service company known as Uber is testing driverless cars in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Just how close are we to such vehicles reaching the mainstream? We are so close to this becoming reality that the federal government of the United States has issued new guidelines for the usage of such vehicles in this country. “We’re saying that when the software is operating the vehicle, that is an area that we intend to regulate. When a human being is operating the vehicle, the traditional laws that have conventionally applied will still apply,” stated Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx. The government has promised to expedite requests from vehicle and technology companies for approval and guidance on how to use new autonomous vehicle technology. (25) The iconic Ford Motor Company is planning to use driverless cars to shuttle its employees around its facilities beginning in 2018. They also plan to release such vehicles to the general public in 2021. “Strides in this technology have the potential to improve safety on our roads and reduce congestion in urban areas. We also look forward to collaborating with states on areas that complement this national framework,” Ford said in a statement. (26)
When people hear all this talk of driverless cars, they might think it will just be an unusual novelty that will never really catch on. However, the mainstream news media outlet known as Bloomberg recently published a story with an ominous headline which declares, “Get Ready for Freeways That Ban Human Drivers.” (27) According to the article, it is fully expected that people will be forced to use autonomous vehicles in the future and no longer be allowed to drive! “In city centers, you don’t want non-automated vehicles: they would just ruin the whole point of why you have a smart city. It makes it a dumb city,” opined Kristin Schondorf, a consultant at the professional services company known as EY. (27) It has even been proposed that a 150 mile stretch of Interstate Highway 5 that goes from Seattle, Washington, to Vancouver, British Columbia, ban all human drivers. “Problems with drivers not paying attention or getting sleepy or getting drunk are really ripe for autonomous to do a better job than humans,” declared Ron Medford, who is the safety director at Google’s self-driving car division. (28) His peers echoed this sentiment. “Long term, these vehicles will drive better than any human possibly can. We’re not there yet, but we will get there sooner than we believe,” insisted Danny Shapiro, a senior director at Nvidia Corporation. (29) Finally, Raj Rajhumar, who is co-director of the General-Motors-Carnegie Mellon Autonomous Driving Collaborative Research Lab was quoted as saying, “Behind the wheel, we are only human and we are expected to screw up. There will come a point in time where we should not be allowed to drive.” (30)
A world where human beings are no longer allowed to drive vehicles would be an ideal situation for an oppressive one world government. In essence, people would be surrendering their autonomy to a machine. Whether or not we actually reach our destination would suddenly depend on if we were allowed to go where we wanted to go. It would also certainly be most difficult to live off the grid away from the prying eyes of Big Brother. Yet, this could be the condition of our world very soon.
IIn closing, there are many things happening in this world that cause great anxiety. We live in a troubled world. While I do not know what the future may hold, I do know that ultimately, God is in control. I find great comfort in the words of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. In John 16:33 he tells us, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Note that Jesus warns us that we will have tribulation, but He also tells us that we will have peace at the same time. The peace of the Lord Jesus Christ is not the same peace they talk about at the United Nations. It is a peace that cannot adequately be explained with words. For as it says in Philippians 4:7, “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Thank you all for your continued support of this ministry. We could not do what we do without your help. By the grace of God, we will continue this ministry, which began so many years ago, for as long as we possibly can. If you have any prayer requests, you can send them our way through the mail or email. We always give each prayer request individual attention. We know that God hears us when we call on Him. Grace and peace be unto you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

What Does The Future Hold?

Systemic Corruption And A Troubling Future For Humanity!

"Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law? They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood. But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge. And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off."
Psalm 94:20-23
"For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts."
II Corinthians 1:20-22
"Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."
II Corinthians 7:1
In this issue of the Last Trumpet Newsletter, we will thoughtfully consider the current condition of our world and the systemic corruption of the political realm. We will also take yet another glimpse at what the future of this modern world may hold.
As I write this newsletter in the latter days of August 2016, the United States of America is in the midst of an election year. In just a few short months, the American people will know who their next president will be, and unless there are unforeseen and improbable circumstances, it will either be the Republican, Donald Trump, or the Democrat, Hillary Clinton. Amid the fury of these presidential campaigns, we hear many promises given by these candidates. Yet, we know from history that political candidates are notorious for broken promises. In fact, one of the most memorable campaign promises in United States' history came from former President George H. W. Bush who famously said at the Republican National Convention in 1988, "The Congress will push me to raise taxes, and I'll say no, and they'll push, and I'll say no, and they'll push again, and I'll say to them, 'Read my lips: no new taxes.'" It was just two short years later in 1990 that President Bush announced new tax increases. (1)
Our current President, Barack Obama, is another man who is known for his multitudinous promises, which included an assurance to the American people that his presidency would be far more open and transparent than his predecessors before him. In a memorandum published in January 2009, Obama wrote the following: "My Administration is committed to creating an unprecedented level of openness in government. We will work together to ensure the public trust and establish a system of transparency, public participation, and collaboration. Openness will strengthen our democracy and promote efficiency and effectiveness in government." (2) Obama then proceeded to do the exact opposite. On March 17, 2014, CBS News published a story with the headline, "Government Secrecy up Under Obama Administration." (3) In this article, Senator Patrick Leahy, who is a Democrat from Vermont, complained that the government will often deny requests for information they do not want to reveal by classifying such information as top secret. "I'm concerned the growing trend toward relying upon FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) exemptions to withhold large swaths of government information is hindering the public's right to know. It becomes too much of a temptation. If you screw up in government, just mark it 'top secret,'" Senator Leahy opined. (4) In reality, men who dare to expose the truth of government corruption are ostracized. This includes Edward Snowden who in previous days worked for the National Security Agency, or NSA, until the day he exposed the unscrupulous activities of his employer and fled the country in 2013.
The website known as Politifact currently features a list of promises broken by Barack Obama. This list exceeds one hundred and will likely grow even more after Obama's final presidential term ends in 2017. (5) His promise to the American people that the implementation of the Affordable Care Act would not force them to change their health insurance plans even won "Lie of the Year" in December 2013. (6) "If you're one of the more than 250 million Americans who already have health insurance, you will keep your health insurance," Obama asserted in June 2012. Approximately four million people received cancellation notices from their insurance companies in 2013. (7)
Considering the politician's propensity to lie, can we believe anything they say? Our current candidates for the 2016 election make many promises just as other politicians do. In fact, Hillary Clinton has promised to eliminate tuition for students attending in-state public colleges if their families make less than 250,000 dollars per year. She has also promised to raise the federal minimum wage to at least 12 dollars an hour and pledged not to raise taxes on middle class Americans. (8) Interestingly enough, Obama also made similar promises, pledging to raise the minimum wage to 9.50 per hour and promising not to raise taxes for the middle class. (9) He lied. It certainly is a strange system wherein votes are bought with promises that do not even have to be kept. The American people, for the most part, know that campaign promises are lies. Yet, people still use such promises as a guideline to decide who they will vote for.
Although men will often disappoint, and politicians will often lie, God always keeps His promises. In II Corinthians 1:20-22 we read, "For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts." God has promised to forgive us of our sins if we repent, and He has promised to send us His Spirit to guide us in our lives. We have also been promised that our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, will return. I urge every reader of this newsletter to lay hold on the promises of God. If you have not yet repented of your sins and dedicated your life to God, I urge you to do so now.

The Trouble With Obamacare!

If one were to sit down and ask Barack Obama of his achievements, he would likely reference the passage of his healthcare law, known as the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, as his favorite accomplishment. This law, which forces every American to buy "affordable" health insurance or pay a fine to the Internal Revenue Service if they fail to comply, was signed into law on March 23, 2010. (10) In the days leading up to the passage of Obamacare, Nancy Pelosi, who was Speaker of the House of Representatives in the United States at the time, famously declared, "We have to pass the bill (Obamacare) so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of controversy." (11) The official website of the Affordable Care Act, healthcare.gov, opened in October 2013, (12) and since that time the American people have become well acquainted with this new healthcare system.
As it turns out, Obamacare is not quite as wonderful as the Democrats who passed it said it would be. In recent months, numerous health insurance companies have announced that they will scale back the insurance they offer through Obamacare or withdraw from the government health insurance program entirely. In August 2016, the health insurance company known as Aetna announced a plan to reduce its offerings on the Obamacare exchange by 80 percent in 2017. This decision was made after it came to light that Aetna is expected to lose 300 million dollars for participating in Obamacare. "The vast majority of payers have experienced continued financial stress within their individual public exchange business. Providing affordable, high-quality health care options to consumers is not possible without a balanced risk pool," stated Mark Bertolini, who is the Chief Executive Officer at Aetna. (13) In other words, Aetna is exiting the Obamacare marketplace because the majority of people who sign up for the insurance on the exchange have costly health problems, while healthy people who would balance the market are opting not to participate in the program. Additionally, two other major insurance companies, United HealthGroup and Humana, have also announced their intentions to quit Obamacare. (14) As a result, consumers will find fewer choices while shopping for insurance on the Obamacare exchange next year. Such is the case in Pinal County, Arizona, where the 300,000 residents who live there will not even be able to buy Obamacare insurance in 2017 because no insurance companies are offering it in their area. (15) In other areas, the cost of insurance premiums are likely to rise by significant amounts. According to a report by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, insurance companies have proposed increases in prices ranging from 5.44 to 37.88 percent in the state of Wisconsin. (16) The state of Illinois will also see sharp increases in insurance cost next year ranging from 44 to 55 percent according to the Chicago Tribune. "While these rate approvals result in a very difficult outcome for consumers, they were necessary to ensure that all Illinois consumers actually have an option for coverage when the 2017 Open Enrollment begins on November 1, 2016," said acting director of the state's insurance department Anne Melissa Dowling. (17) Additionally, the Los Angeles Times has reported that Californians' insurance premiums will increase by 13.2 percent in 2017. (18)
By now it should be clear that Obamacare is awful. We have lived with it long enough to see that it probably will not get better, but in all likelihood will actually get worse. While the official name for Obama's law is the "Affordable Care Act," many people, including myself, have come to realize that it is not affordable at all. Naturally, people are hoping that Obamacare will fall apart, and the mainstream news outlet known as CNBC seems to think that the program is doomed for failure. A headline they published on August 17, 2016, declares, "Aetna's Obamacare pullout means the 'insurance death spiral' has arrived." (19) However, we must consider the possibility that Obamacare as it exists today was never really what the liberals wanted. In an opinion piece written for the New York Times in 2013, the socialist filmmaker and documentarian, Michael Moore, admitted that Obamacare is "awful." Yet he praised the program because he believes it is a steppingstone to a universal government-controlled healthcare system. (20) Although many countries already have universal healthcare, the United States has been a notable exception. Clearly, this makes the United Nations unhappy since a global healthcare system is one of their goals that they hope to make a reality by the year 2030. In an official document from the United Nations, which was published in October 2015, we find the following words: "We envisage a world free of fear and violence. A world with universal literacy. A world with equitable and universal access to quality education at all levels, to health care and social protection, where physical, mental and social well-being are assured." (21) Yes, according to the United Nations, a truly universal and global healthcare system is a crucial component in their forthcoming one world government.

The Bizarre Campaign Of Hillary Clinton!

With the 2016 presidential election in the United States looming, the headlines are constantly dominated by stories of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Of course, we know from her past that Hillary Clinton is an exceedingly wicked woman who loves abortion, is involved in the occult, and is a pathological liar. To make matters worse, it seems that working with Hillary can be very dangerous business. In fact, many of Clinton's associates in the past have met with untimely and mysterious ends. The latest victim is a man by the name of Seth Rich. He was considered a rising star in the Democratic Party until he was shot and killed on the night of July 10, 2016, while walking home in a suburb of Washington, D.C. (22) Although the police have characterized this deadly assault as a robbery gone wrong, it is quite odd that none of Mr. Rich's belongings were stolen. "There had been a struggle. His hands were bruised, his knees are bruised, his face is bruised, and yet he had two shots to his back, and yet they never took anything. They took his life for literally no reason," Rich's mother said. (23) A widely circulating theory suggests that Mr. Rich was the party responsible for leaking thousands of emails which exposed the Democratic Party's unethical behavior as they worked for Hillary Clinton. The scandal led to the resignation of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz who had served as chairperson of the Democratic National Committee. To further fan the flames of suspicion, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is now offering a 20,000 dollar reward to anyone with information regarding the death of Seth Rich. Since WikiLeaks is the organization who released the incriminating emails, it would make sense that Mr. Rich was the source for their information. Assange has not confirmed or denied that Seth Rich was his source. (24) It is an interesting theory, however.
Hillary Clinton wants to be the next President of the United States, and there is a very real possibility that she could be given that position. Nevertheless, her behavior as a presidential candidate is quite bizarre. It seems she has great reticence when it comes to communicating with the press. In fact, a report published on August 24, 2016, by The Washington Post indicates that Clinton has not held a press conference since December 5, 2015! (25) In response to the growing outcry, Clinton's campaign manager, Robby Mook, has defended his candidate by claiming that Clinton has granted over three hundred interviews since the beginning of 2016. (26) It is interesting to note, however, that Hillary Clinton will seldom allow reporters to interview her, choosing rather to appear on television in a controlled environment. When she does allow an interviewer to be graced by her presence, her interviews are very short. They typically run between three and eight minutes, which all but guarantees that the interviewer will not be able to ask any in-depth or difficult questions. (27) What is she hiding? Perhaps Clinton already knows that she will be the next president and is therefore not particularly concerned about how she is perceived by the public. Needless to say, the public's perception of her is not good. A recent poll conducted by the Washington Post and ABC News found that 62 percent of respondents said Clinton is neither honest nor trustworthy. (28) Indeed, Ms. Clinton has been involved in numerous scandals over the years, including the handling of her emails while she served as Secretary of State under the Obama Administration and inappropriate dealings with individuals who donated money to her Clinton Foundation. One can only imagine what a Hillary Clinton presidency would be like, but the possibility does call to mind the words we find in Proverbs 29:2, "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn."

What Does The Future Hold?

There is something about the year 2030. Not only is the year of 2030 the target year wherein the United Nations hopes to establish its one world government, it is also a year that was written about in a recent article published by the Kiplinger Letter. In an article entitled "20 Amazing Ways Your Daily Life Will Be Different in 2030," the publication details some of its best guesses regarding what the future will be like. Some of their predictions include an Internet-enabled refrigerator which will keep an inventory of your groceries and automatically order replacement items when supplies are low. They also predict that groceries, household items, and small items weighing less than 10 pounds will be delivered by drones. They say appliances, locks, lights, heating and cooling systems, and other household equipment will all be linked by wireless microchips to the Internet. It is fully expected that driverless cars will be commonly used by 2030 as well. Other predictions include facial recognition security checkpoints at the airports, implanted microchips that will monitor the health of humans, smartphones that record everything we do, and a mostly cashless society. (29)
At first glance, these predictions from the Kiplinger Letter may seem far-fetched. However, these are educated guesses, and at this point in history, we are very close to seeing some of these predictions become reality. For example, the government of New Zealand recently gave the pizza chain known as Domino's permission to use drones for pizza delivery. The drones that Domino's will be using were developed by a company known as Flirtey. "With the increased number of deliveries we make each year, we were faced with the challenge of ensuring our delivery times continue to decrease and that we strive to offer our customers new and progressive ways of ordering from us," said Don Meij who is the chief executive and managing director for Domino's in New Zealand. He later went on to say, "Domino's is all about providing customers with choice and making customer's lives easier. Adding innovation such as drone deliveries means customers can experience cutting-edge technology and the convenience of having their Supreme Pizza delivered via air to their door. This is the future." (30) The company is also seeking to deliver pizzas using robots. (31)
In other news, a company known as nuTonomy is now offering a new autonomous vehicle taxi service in Singapore. This is notable because while companies such as Google have been testing driverless cars for years, nuTonomy is the first company in the world to allow the general public to use such vehicles. The service is limited for now to a small area consisting of 2.5 miles, but the company is hoping to have a full fleet in operation throughout Singapore by the year 2018. "We face constraints in land and manpower. We want to take advantage of self-driving technology to overcome such constraints, and in particular to introduce new mobility concepts which could bring about transformational improvements to public transport in Singapore," stated Singapore's Permanent Secretary for Transport, Pang Kin Keong. (32) The well-known ride service known as Uber is also set to test a similar service in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the coming weeks. Customers seeking rides will summon them as usual with Uber's program that works on smartphones. To entice customers to try it, Uber will be offering free rides in their autonomous vehicles. It is worthwhile to note, however, that these vehicles are not fully autonomous. They require a driver who can take control if something goes wrong, and these vehicles at this point are unable to cross bridges without human intervention. "Bridges are really hard. And there are like 500 bridges in Pittsburgh," said Uber's engineering director, Raffi Krikorian. (33)
Drones will be delivering pizzas in New Zealand, and driverless cars will be giving customers rides in Pittsburgh and Singapore, but how close are we to a cashless society? According to a report published in November 2015, chief executive officer Tim Cook of the computer maker known as Apple has predicted that a cashless society will be here soon. Speaking at a gathering at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, Cook told his audience, "Your kids will not know what money is." (34) We are already seeing the first stirrings of a cashless society in the United States. The chain of restaurants known as Sweetgreen recently stopped accepting cash at some locations. "One of the biggest complaints at Sweetgreen is the line, so by reducing cash we're able to serve customers a lot faster," said Jonathan Newman, who is co-founder of the Sweetgreen chain. (35) A company known as Major Food Group, which operates restaurants in New York, has also decided to forgo cash at some of its locations, including a restaurant known as Sadelle's. "I believe very strongly in the cash-free movement. There is an immense amount of work, process, and error that goes into taking, processing, monitoring and depositing cash. The amount of time and money that this costs is not worth the amount of business that is done in cash," declared Major Food Group co-owner Jeff Zalaznick. (36) I suspect that when the transformation to a cashless society is complete, it will not be because governments around the world have stopped issuing cash. Rather it will be because businesses no longer accept it, and thus having cash will be useless. This trend can even be observed at the Shopko store in my hometown of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. The store gives customers the option of using a self-checkout to purchase items, but those machines do not accept cash.
The technology required for a fully cashless society already exists. This is clearly shown in an article published on May 21, 2016, entitled "Satan's Credit Card: What the Mark of the Beast Taught Me About the Future of Money." The article, which was written by a man named Charlie Warzel, chronicles the author's quest to go completely cashless for thirty days. Although this man's original plan was to use a mishmash of mobile payment services with his smartphone to pay for goods and services, it culminated in a trip to Stockholm, Sweden, where he eventually received a microchip implant in his hand. As he prepared to receive his microchip, Warzel was warned by his piercer who would be performing the operation, "So now I'm going to tell you something you probably didn't consider before. People - very conservative right-wing Christian types - might come after you for this. They see it as the Mark of the Beast. I just want you to be prepared." The warning did not dissuade Warzel, however. Not only did he receive his microchip, but he was determined to become the first man to pay for a meal at a restaurant with his hand. In April 2016, he did that very thing at a restaurant in New York City. (37)
The human population is marching toward a future where technology controls the people, and a global one world government is established. We are closer than ever to seeing this happen, and that means we are closer than ever to the return of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. As we get closer to that fateful day, we see a world where there is trouble on every side. In August 2016, the American state of Louisiana suffered from devastating flooding that has damaged more than 110,000 homes. (38) The state of California is quite literally on fire as 4,200 wildfires have swept through the region so far this year, leading to the destruction of a vast area of land. (39) In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, riots broke out on August 13, 2016, and continued on August 14, 2016, (40) after a black police officer shot a black man who was pointing a gun at the officer. (41) Numerous stores in the area were looted and burned beyond repair. The violence was so bad that Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke requested assistance from the Wisconsin National Guard. (42) These are dangerous days.
We live in a world that desperately needs a Saviour. Thankfully, we can draw near to our God for comfort and strength in this tumultuous world. We are assured of this in James 4:6-10 which tells us, "But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up."
Thank you all for your kind support of this ministry. We pray that God will be with you all. If you have any prayer requests, we are ready and willing to bring your petitions before the throne of the Almighty. Grace and peace be unto you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

5 faith facts about Dem. VP pick Tim Kaine, a Jesuit-educated Catholic

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton announced Tim Kaine, the junior Democratic senator from Virginia and former governor of that state, as her vice presidential running mate Friday.
Kaine, a Roman Catholic, will appear with Clinton, a Methodist, at next week's Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
Here are five faith facts about the new vice presidential candidate.
1. He was taught by Jesuits.
Kaine was raised Catholic in the Kansas City area*. His parents were so devout, Kaine told C-SPAN, that “if we got back from a vacation on a Sunday night at 7:30 p.m., they would know the one church in Kansas City that had an 8 p.m. Mass that we can make.” He attended an all-boys Jesuit high school in Kansas City and worked for a year with Jesuit missionaries in Honduras, where he taught welding -- his father's trade -- and carpentry.

He and his wife attend St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Richmond, Va., which has a predominantly African-American congregation. He co-founded a men's study group there.
2. Kaine says he separates the personal from the political.
Kaine is personally against abortion and the death penalty and has sometimes spoken against same-sex marriage and gay adoption, all of which aligns with Catholic teaching. But he has taken different stances in his political life. He has upheld Roe v. Wade and told Chuck Todd of "Meet the Press": "I have taken the position, which is quite common among Catholics -- I have got a personal feeling about abortion, but the right rule for government is to let women make their own decisions."
As Virginia's governor, he oversaw 11 state executions. "I have a moral position against the death penalty," he said in 2012. "But I took an oath of office to uphold it. Following an oath of office is also a moral obligation."
He was fairly late to supporting same-sex marriage, saying in 2013, "I believe all people, regardless of sexual orientation, should be guaranteed the full rights to the legal benefits and responsibilities of marriage under the Constitution."
And while Kaine opposed gay adoption in 2005 -- also in line with Catholic Church teaching -- by 2012 he had reversed his position.
3. He favors allowing women to become priests.
When Pope Francis visited Washington, D.C., in September 2015, Kaine attended the pontiff's historic address to Congress. Before the speech, he issued a statement. "If women are not accorded equal place in the leadership of the Catholic Church and the other great world religions, they will always be treated as inferiors in earthly matters as well," Kaine said. "There is nothing this Pope could do that would improve the world as much as putting the Church on a path to ordain women."
4. Kaine is a fan of Pope Francis' "Laudato Si'."
Not all Catholics thought the pontiff should write an encyclical on a secular issue such as global warming, but Kaine agrees with Francis' framing of the issue as one of faith. "I'm sure he's not going to opine on whether a carbon tax is better than a cap-and-trade mechanism," Kaine said of the pope days before the encyclical was published in 2015. "That doesn't need to be where he goes -- but to say, 'You know, you guys and everybody in power these days, you've got the next generation's future in your hands, and you don't want to have to face that question later in life: With the science what it was, and with you having the opportunity to do something about it, why did you choose not to?'"
5. Kaine speaks openly about his faith.
“My faith is central to everything I do,” he once told the website Patch. “My faith position is a Good Samaritan position of trying to watch out for the other person.” And in a recent C-SPAN interview he said: “I do what I do for spiritual reasons. I’m always thinking about the momentary reality but also how it connects with bigger matters of what’s important in life.”

Tim KaineJesuit spirituality may make him an ideal candidate for one crucial progressive Democratic constituency: the ‘nones.’

(RNS) Tim Kaine, who describes himself as “boring,” may not be the running mate choice for Hillary Clinton that Democrats on the far left wanted. But his Jesuit spirituality may make him an ideal candidate for one crucial progressive Democratic constituency: the ‘nones.’
‘Nones’ are people who tell pollsters they have no institutional religious affiliation. Since they emerged in the election of Barack Obama as an important voting bloc, politicos have been struggling to figure out how to mobilize them. They comprise some 20 percent of registered voters and more than 25 percent of registered voters who favor Democrats. The Pew Research Center recently reported that nearly 70 percent of nones support Hillary Clinton.
That’s good news for Democrats. That is, if nones get to the polls on voting day, which is by no means a sure thing for a population more opposed to Trump than for Clinton. Keeping nones plugged into the election is strategically important for the Clinton campaign.

Here’s the rub: most nones don’t think religious views of political candidates matter. They’re far less likely than the religiously affiliated to think organized religions can “contribute to solving social problems,” according to Pew. Given this, candidates seeking to mobilize them based on their non-religious status face challenges that those courting evangelicals and other religiously affiliated voters don’t.
Still, while nones are not, by definition, engaged by institutional religion, the majority do believe in God or a higher power, sometimes pray, and otherwise find the spiritual throughout their lives. Strikingly few of them are atheists or hard agnostics. And a majority believe religion can “strengthen community bonds” and “play an important role in helping the poor and needy.”
So, does Tim Kaine’s Jesuit Catholic background offer anything that might appeal to spiritual nones?

Between the last election season and this one, I talked with more than 100 nones across America about their spiritual lives and surveyed several hundred more. My research shows that the Jesuit values that shape Tim Kaine’s politics correspond in many ways to the spirituality of nones.
Nones tend to take relationships with family, friends, and, for many, pets or other animals as the starting point for experiencing the spiritual. Their spirituality unfolds in appreciation of the sacred within the ordinary. Care for others, rather than any strict moral code, grounds their ethics.
For their part, Jesuits are challenged to be “men and women for others,” which means striving for greater achievement not for oneself, but in order to do more (magis, in Jesuit terminology) with your life so that the lives of others are improved. Greatness, that is, comess not from personal accomplishment per se but in helping ordinary people through the hardships and tragedies of life. We see Kaine’s embrace of magis in his representation of victims of housing discrimination as well as his equanimity, despite his personal religious convictions, in voting for women’s reproductive choice. This relational, service-oriented Jesuit spirituality is likely to be appealing to nones.

Nones who shared their stories with me were cosmopolitan. They embraced diversity, and preferred even fleeting spiritual connections over long-held religious traditions or doctrine. They were open to sharing spiritual experiences with others even when they did not share religious beliefs.
The Jesuit concept of cura personalis—“care for the whole person”—makes religious commitment a matter of valuing the distinctiveness of each, individual person and of diversity among people. This has marked Jesuit spirituality itself as a cosmopolitan spirituality that sees difference as a gift from God, not as a blemish on some imagined cultural or religious uniformity. This value is reflected in Kaine’s work as a Jesuit volunteer in Honduras and in his work on civil rights issues as a lawyer, a governor, and a senator.
It’s almost certain that Kaine would never mispronounce a book in the Bible, but bumbled biblical citations don’t matter to Jesuits — as they surely don’t to nones. What does matter to nones is cultivating diverse relationships of mutual respect and genuine caring, and appreciating and preserving the beauty and wonder of the world. Jesuits tend to express this ethical, activist spirituality in the ideas of “finding God in all things” and being “contemplatives in action.”
We’re unlikely to hear these Jesuit phrases in the campaign, but they are the spiritual backstory of Kaine’s politics and much of what he offers to a Clinton candidacy dogged by ethical questions. In choosing Tim Kaine, Hillary Clinton has shifted the religious narrative of the election away from the false equation of “religion” and “Christianity” with radical, conservative, evangelicalism. She’s found a way to speak spirituality to nones and also to lift up the moderate-to-progressive Christian faith of millions of religiously affiliated American voters.         Religion News
