Is there a hell?

Very few people discuss the topic of hell, because very few understand it. Is there a hellfire that people go to at death or is that a pagan teaching that has been incorporated into the dogma of the Church? It is very important that we separate long held man-made traditions from Biblical truths. It takes a lot of hard work and humility, but this intense study will go into what is false and what is true.
